Hello from Byron Bay Australia (I am originally from Melbourne)....

MY LIFE IN A FEW WORDS...

• At 16 I left school to do an apprenticeship as a Compositor (Desktop Publisher / Graphic Designer).

• Since 1988 I have worked primarily in the diving industry prior to moving to Byron Bay in 2015.

• I worked for Sport diving magazine as well as DAN Australia and Oceanic Australia in graphics and photography.

• In the late 90's I had a 5 year stint as a commercial graphic designer at Fairfax.

• In 2002 I went freelance and bought my first house in Rosebud, Victoria..

SCUBA DIVING & UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY:

• Learnt to Scuba Dive in 1989 and immediately took up Underwater Photography.

• Primarily used a Nikons 3 amphibious camera with Sigma 17mm and Twin strobes.

• In Olympus 2004 I also bought the very fine F1.8 Olympus 5050 and Inon 100 degree wide lens.

• Have also used a Nikon D90 in a housing but found it too bulky, and went back to the Olympus.

• Won a few UW Photo Comp's using the Olympus camera including a Byron Bay comp where I won the dSLR UW housing.

INTERNATIONAL WORK:

• I graphically designed and sold photos to the USA for a few years.

• 2011 sold a shot to McNett which they printed to 20 feet wide - was a picture of my wife and a school of Trevally at Tulamben in Bali.

• I also shoot with GoPro cameras and have produced many UW Videos

COMMUNITY / VOLUNTEERING:

• From 2008 to 2011 I was a speaker at Probus / Lions Clubs around Melbourne and I sold almost 1,000 copies

of my own 25 minute production titled Port Phillip Bay & Beyond - a musical documentary.

• Have volunteered in Lions while living in Rosebud, and here in Byron Bay.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY:

• Started photographing weddings in the early 90's for diving friends... by 2002 I was doing 30 to 40 a year.

• Have created a new business name in Byron in the hope of continuing my wedding photography.

MY PASSION FOR DIVING and VIDEO EDITING:

• I have a YouTube channel called seapicsdavebryant with close to 200 videos.

• I love my shore diving in Byron Bay with two fantastic shipwrecks and some lovely shallow reefs.
