Prior to going digital I used a very reliable and lovely Canon AE-1 SLR. I've always had a keen amateur interest in photography, including a period where I processed and printed my own B&W pictures.

I joined Flickr as an incentive to identify, sort out and share my better photos. Some of them already appear on a leading travel website. Another featured prominently on the cover of a national newspaper. Several more have also been published, for example in a book on architecture and on the cover of a tourist board map.

UPDATE: I did not renew my Flickr subscription in 2010, I needed to ration my time on this website. However, with the 2013 Flickr revamp my 1800+ pictures are again fully visible. I'm still an active photographer but trying to concentrate on my paintings!
