SE5 Forum For Camberwell
Drag to set position!
Welcome to SE5Forum For Camberwell.
SE5 Forum is a new and exciting resource, a grass roots organisation set up by local people for local people. IT is a membership group whose strength comes through the support, vision and participation of its membership. Anyone with an interest in the Camberwell area is free to join.
We aim to give all members of the community a voice that will allow them ways to improve the Camberwell area. It is intended that the Forum should provide the eyes, ears and a collective voice for the community. Everyone involved is invited and encouraged to give accounts of what they see happening in the area and to share their concerns and ideas with the Forum so their knowledge, views and opinions can be collated, channelled and used to inform the relevant authorities about what needs to change in the SE5 area to make it better for everyone.
SE5 Forum seeks accountability and transparency within local authority bodies and providers of public services responsible for the Camberwell area - which extends across two boroughs.

It takes time and a lot of effort to make a Forum work properly - in all sense of the word 'proper' and now (20 February 2008) SE5 Forum is for the first time close to being a sustainable fully functioning voluntary body. The board met last night, chaired for the first time by Laurence Benson, and dealt with the serious issue of deciding on what shape external support for the Forum should take for the year ahead. Nine members attended and worked through a decison making process that, in itself, was the result of the learning journey these people have experienced together over the last two years. It was exciting to see and be part of this process and proved the Forum is working with focus and vision in place and a sense of business being done getting ready to tackle the considerable tasks ahead.
