One of the real strengths of Flickr is its ability to introduce you to really nice people who have common interests. And it is through Flickr that I met Steve and his wonderful portfolio of images. Steve is alway working at developing new skills and is generous in sharing his knowledge and experience with others. His enthusiasm for photography really shows in his excellent work, which ranges from fabulous flower macros to his newest interest in studio portraits and studio lighting. I was fortunate to meet him in person last year in Orlando and to spend a delightful day out shooting nature with him. He has become a true amigo whose friendship I genuinely value. We have exchanged thousands of e-mails on every subject imaginable, from photography, to computers, to our families and to politics. It has been a fun journey. Regards, Jared

Steve is an amazing photographer and I could get lost for hours in his photos without getting bored, but he's also a great member of the flickr 'community'. He supports other photographers with constructive comments and awards and encourages them to share their works so they too can be appreciated. I am totally in awe of his work - he has one of the best collections of photos on flickr that I have had the pleasure to look through - if you want to have a quiet relaxing evening, grab a glass or two of wine, and set his photostream on slideshow and just kick back for a while - you'll be well rewarded. With such a wonderful combination of artistry, skill, vision, humility, kindness, and helpfulness, I am honored to consider Steve as a contact and friend.

There are no words sufficient to describe the artistic endowments of a thinking man whose pragmatism is also evident in his zest for life. His is for the books. The innumerable awards he received for his extra-ordinary photographs were the testimonial of the mark of excellence achieved in the awards group we had. I hasten to add here that this remarkable man has proven retirement is a cause now commited to the progress of the creative artist within each of us...a reason to pursue excellence in all undertakings...he showed it can be done...there is no limit to the good one can achieve at any given time in one's life... To date, I found an astonishing photograph of his of a most attractive Hyacinth Macaw that had me blogging it with his kind permission in my Mulitply site because it greatly inspired philosophical poetry, nowhere else would I find a similar photograph of this royal specie that could have been taken with the same devotion and aplomb the way Steve did and no one I know could have made a Hyacinth Macaw more philosophical than it already is in his photograph.
