My primary areas of interst are nature photography and aviation (model and full scale).

When I photograph wildlife, my interest is in capturing both the beauty and the personality of the subject. I try to inject humor in my work whenever possible. My work is both documentary and fine art.

I received my BFA in printmaking and ceramics in 1995. I did not study photography much in school, but my grandfather was a photographer, as are my father and sister. So, it's a family tradition. I can't tell you how much I've learned from my father.

I became interested in photography with the digital revoltion around 2000. Initially, I was focused on abstract macro plant photography. That has shifted in recent years to wildlife photography. I still do macro work, but my macro subjects are primarily insects rather than plants.
