Hobbyist photographer based in South Lanarkshire, Scotland.

My journey into the world of photography began in early 2017 when I found myself at the end of a platform at Glasgow Central station capturing images of trains on my phone. I had been interested in photography for many years by this point and I saw my then recently developed interest in the railways as an opportunity to pursue the hobby. I acquired my first DSLR - a Canon EOS 1300D - in August 2017 and started off with Canon's 18 - 55mm and 55 - 250mm lenses. I eventually moved on to the Canon EOS 90D with a mix of Canon's EF 50mm, EF 24 - 105mm and EF-S 55 - 250mm lenses.

The COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns caused my desire to get out with the camera to fade and I eventually sold the 1300D and associated lenses. However in recent years I have found myself becoming fascinated with wildlife which ultimately reignited my interest in the hobby and I returned to it in November 2023 with the Canon EOS R7 with 18 - 150mm and 100 - 400mm lenses to complement my DJI Mini 2 drone for aerial photography.

This is my second account on Flickr and the vast majority of images in this photostream will feature railway operations in the UK, though there will also be occasional images of overseas railways and other modes of transport.
