Scotch Horn Day Centre Brandon Trust

Gone are the days when people went into a day centre, became institutionalised and never came out again!!! Does that sound familiar?!

Day Centres have come a long way since then and nowadays people move through our service and not into it. We are different things to different people. We recognise that you, as the people we work with, are individuals. We need to identify how we can develop and support your potential. Scotch Horn and Strode Road are integrated services working with people with a learning disability that may also have a physical impairment.

We are in the process of change with the introduction of personal and individual budgets. Our challenge is to provide opportunities for people to enjoy and achieve their expectations. People we support now come to us and tell us what they want and not the other way around. We listen to their requests. This truly allows people to have a bespoke service.

We continue to have strong partnership working with North Somerset CTPLD, which is essential for the people we support to access the services they require.

After an introduction to our service people can come and have taster sessions to see if it's for them, before they commit to purchasing.

Peoples requirements of our service vary immensely, but we pride ourselves on being able to support people in many ways. These are some of the areas:

Vocational Groups

Communication & Advocacy

Project Groups

Community Groups

Therapeutic Groups

Sport & Fitness
