Hello world!

My name is Tara and I am 40 years old. I began doing photography in my early twenties because I became aware of my surroundings as I got older and I realized how much beauty and wonder could be found in nature. I am a huge animal lover so wildlife became my main focus on the other end of the lens. I chose to begin college at 38, determined to become a professional photographer, but completely aware that I needed a lot of help. I have always had trouble learning all of the settings and functions of my camera, and I am ashamed to admit I mostly do point and shoot photos. I currently use a Nikon Coolpix P1000 camera, and I love the zoom abilities on this camera!

My dream job would be one that enables me to combine my photography and my love of animals, while making a difference in the world. I would love to be a photojournalist for Nat Geo or something like that. I have recently been thinking about offering my services (for free of course) to animal shelters to capture photos of the animals up for adoption, or even photos at a zoo or something.

I am creating this account as a requirement for one of my college courses so we can post our work and share it with our professor and classmates. Thank you for taking some time to check out my work, I hope you enjoy!
