Hello and thanks for stopping by my page!
I am a Norwegian boy 35 year old living near the town Arendal in Norway.
I have been taking photos all my life but the interest has been up and down in periods. I got my first camera from my parents when very young and inherited my father’s old SLR at age 10. That was an Exakta, they made the world’s first 35mm SLR and I have lots of equipment for it.
Currently I am using a Canon 1D MK III and as backup an EOS 350D, my wife Alice had a EOS 100 when we met and that was enough for me to turn Canon. We bought the 350D last summer after many years (for me) of using Fujii digital compact cameras. As we are divers I developed an interest for underwater photography and then had to learn everything possible about the “creative” side of the camera with manual exposure, EV, use of light etc (several flashbacks to the Exakta). The compact soon turned out to be limiting my needs above water and I again became a SLR person.
With the camera I also got the lens kit (addition to the standard kit lens I also got the 55-200 and the battery grip), then in lack of a photo club in Arendal I joined Flickr after a good friend of us recommended it. That was fun, group collection soon went so big due to all my interest in life that either I had to cut down or quit my job… I ended up with the first choice:-). The benefit was of course somewhere to discuss technique and equipment. Soon I realized that there is something called UWA and the pictures was stunning, along the line came a EF-S 10-22 this spring. But it did not stop there! In June this year I added the EF 70-200 f4L IS USM lens, the EF 100mm f2.8 Macro USM (does it have USM? It say so) and a flash was needed so cash back campaign made me go for the 430ex as well. The Flickr open your eyes and your wallet :-)
This July I got a freelance job for a local newspaper covering a music festival called Canal Street, low light, rain at times made me by a monopod, a EF 50mm F1.8 II and a plastic bag.
Currently (12.08.07) I am awaiting my latest orders: The 1D MKIII, EF 16-35 F2.8L II USM and the EF 24-105 F4 IS USM.
Does it stop here? Probably not! But what a fantastic interest it is what a fantastic thing Flickr is.
See you all around!
Edit 15.09.07: Just got the 16-35 and 24-105, still waiting for my MKIII.
Edit 06.12.07: Did take a while but now it's here, Im the lucky and happy owner of the EOS 1D MKIII :-)

You have always had my admiration. I cannot count the times I envy your incredible ability to take in new material, learn new techniques and obtain knowledge that is both important to know and nice to know. You are a constant inspiration and you make me curious and eager to learn more about what I know I don’t know enough about after talking to you. Everything you do, you do it to the complete. This is a great quality about you and combined with your incredible ability to take in new info (especially technicalities) you becomes a technical genius it is most enjoyable to be around. With this said, I know that you will become an even more brilliant photographer than you are today as your knowhow about equipment, technique and experience increase.
