I began climbing in 1963 while a graduate student at the University of Washington. After completing a MS I joined the UW faculty and continued as Assistant Gymnastic Coach. In 1969 I entered the University of Minnesota as a PhD candidate. Following completion of the degree I taught Exercise Physiology and did research at Montana State University in Bozeman. From 1972 to 1994 when I retired I climbed extensively in the nearby mountains including the Absoroka, Beartooth, Tetons and Wind River ranges. Following retirement I moved to Walla Walla, Washington and continued hiking and climbing in the Eagle Cap Wilderness and the Washington Cascades. I retired my SLR when Kodachrome became obsolete. Now my wife does the photography.

Pictures shown are generally chronological. The first 50+ are from 1965-1969.
