I've made a commitment to be more present here (especially since I'm an admin for a group).

 

In light of that, I will post an excerpt from another photo site I am on:

"I tend to critique photos relatively stringently. Please don't take offense to this. My only desire to to help others along the same road I am on. I encourage and expect the same kind of reviews for my own photos: if it's terrible, tell me it's terrible; if I'm on the right track, please tell me so."

 

Again, I reiterate, please do not take offense to anything I might say in critiquing your photo. If I comment on it, I think it is either great, or has the potential to be great and I'm just trying to help in my own capacity.

I have been taking photos on and off again for the last seven years or so. I have only recently spent any effort to improve my skills as a photographer. Fortunately, I am the proud father of two young boys, a 3 year old and a newborn, but that means I don't get to take as many photos as I would like.

 

Even as a rank amateur, I tend to critique photos relatively stringently. Please don't take offense to this. My only desire to to help others along the same road I am on.
