I was born in Baraboo, WI home of the Ringling Brothers Circus, a truly fitting start to the crazy and wondrous life I have lived to this point. Being raised in the Minneapolis, MN and spending my summers on a Wisconsin farm I started a love for nature and how we interact with it early.

I was given my first camera at eight as a way to bond with my step-dad and I don’t remember a time I did not have some kind of camera by my side. I never looked at photography as a career; I was too busy raising kids and just living. It was a passion, a way to renew my soul but always just a hobby.

In December of 2009 my world and how I look at it forever changed when I was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. After that I took a hard look what I do in every part of my life; that is when I knew I had to take my passion and make it a larger part of my life.
