I joined Flickr to keep track of a friend's photostream but I quickly got the bug. I needed a hobby that would be completely different from work and family life, to let me escape to a different head space and I'm hoping this will be it.

I don't know much at all about photography and a lot of the jargon just flies over my head. I am hoping to improve my eye for what makes a good photo and to discover another way of looking at the world - finding beauty (or not) in unexpected places.

I really love photos that tell a story.
