I'm an expatriate native New Orleanian living in Eagle Rock, a terrific small-town-like neighborhood in Los Angeles. I travel back home as often as I can.
I'm a passionate lover and enthusiast of food and drink, and a pretty good cook, specializing in Louisiana cuisine and with a near-obsession with pork products. I'm also a reasonably advanced (although non-professional) cocktailian and mixologist, as well as a longtime web wonk.
Recently I was the producer/compiler of the 4-CD box set "Doctors, Professors, Kings and Queens: The Big Ol' Box of New Orleans" and co-author of the included 85-page book, as well as producer/compiler of the new anthology "This is the Dirty Dozen Brass Band Collection", both available on Shout! Factory Records.
My Flickr pages are a work-in-progress, and I've been having fun with them. I'll be uploading older photographs as well as new ones, and working on honing my digital photography skills now that I've mostly eschewed the use of film for still photography (and there's at least one old teacher of mine who may be oscillating in his grave over this decision ...)
My interests in photography reflect my interests in life. You'll see lots of music and food here, although I would very much like to improve and expand my portrait photography.
I own the copyright to my photographs, and they may not be used for any commercial purposes without my consent, and without fair compensation. I'm sorry, but you don't get to use my photographs for free so that you can make money from them, so please don't ask. (Recently someone representing a multi-billion dollar global corporation asked me for one of my photos to use in a new web ad, offering me nothing but "exposure." Don't let these people use you like this.)
As for non-commercial, non-profit or charitable uses, shoot me an email. I'm sure we can work something out. :-)
