All the photographs on this stream are from Highcroft field. I live in a bungalow within this field and have done with my family for 20 years, now under threat from council development into a Gypsy and Traveller site. It is a must save situation, a massive bio-diverse site, agriculturally unimproved neutral grassland, grazing land through history, has been non-grazing for over 30 years now and is a breeding ground for nature within an ocean of farmland. A UKBAP priority habitat, have found two previously unrecorded bees in the county from this site, 302 species of moth (so far), 22 butterfly species, 29 hoverfly species and 11 poss 12 species of bumblebee, so far. Must be made LWS to save this fragile, forgotten land.

Must see also on flickr, Highcroft meadow maps account please.

Update, Oct 2014, BCN Wildlife Trust have made this site a Local Wildlife Site on its invertebrate species alone. Surveys this year turned up 14 Nationally Scarce B, 23 BAP, 6 New to County and 41+ local species of invertebrate, with a total invert list of 800+ species.
