History of roadsideobjects.com

My Waterfalls can be seen on a separate Flickr account Richard W. Donnan rickrider49

The very first strange object I ever took was a picture of was Giant Coke Can in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba in 1998. Since 2001, I have been taking pictures of different objects and statues. I now have over 1,700 pictures from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba even a few from Ontario, Quebec and the USA. The Giant Coffee Pot in Davidson was very first object that I took a picture of in Saskatchewan in June 2001.

Overtime I have used several internet sites to help locate many of the different attractions including www.roadsideattractions.ca www.bigthings.com (No longer up) and others; However, every time I take a trip to find some of them I have problems finding some of the objects. I don't have the exact location of the statues. Yes, the object is in this town or city, but where? I sometimes spend an hour or two trying to find it, but end up not finding it. The next time I go to that town or city I find it in less than 15 min. Some I have yet to find. I also always seem to find other objects I did not know about. That is what makes the trips fun!

My web page www.roadsideobjects.com is no longer up. The cost of the web page was too high. So I now only have my pictures on Flickr. I can also include an unlimited number of pictures, sizes and information for one price. Each picture includes the date it was taken without having to add it. That I Like. photostream gives you the option to just like at most recent pictures. There is still the option of going through each album picture by picture. There is no blog, but I that ok. The other option for just one price makes up for it.
