Fausto Sarli, designer for the great Schubert, at the end of the ‘50es, came at footligh of the most authentic sartorial tradition. His couturier pattern is a sequence of successes, from the development of international markets, to prize and recognitions among which the Leone d’oro, The Oscar to the career, the prize Citta’ di Milano for his first 40 years in high fashion and the prestigious charge from Giorgio Cini Foundation of Venice to restore Eleonora Duse dresses, shown at Peggy Guggenheim Museum of Venice and Guggenheim Museum of New York. He received the prize “Lupa Capitolina” from Rome Mayor as Excellence of Italian High Fashion worldwide. Roma Capitale homage his work with an anthology edit by Electa “Sarli, Geometriche Poesie”, presented at Musei Capitolini last May, together with a selection of his iconic-dresses. As “original” Neapolitan, Fausto Sarli is multifaceted and avant-garde: his creativity and stylistic research has significantly contributed on the affirmation of Italian fashion worldwide. The stylistic inheritance of the “Maestro” – as was called by fashion insiders – is kept alive and developed in the Atelier of Via Gregoriana in Rome, through the substantial and young style team contribution, always supported by great sartorial knowledge. Craftsmanship and manual skills, always on stage, in the historical Atelier, as reference to modiste, premiere and embroideress. A little army of art excellence of “good and well done”.
