Sara Simms is an innovative electronic music producer, turntablist, DJ and advocate of new music technology. A true musician at heart, as a teen Sara studied jazz guitar. Her destiny was forever altered when she first saw a DMC battle, and she switched from practicing 2-5-1's to rocking the 1's and 2's. Inspired by the drum and bass scene, hip-hop culture and the golden era of turntablism she became a DJ, and early on in her career was awarded a Vestax “Future DJ” sponsorship.

Sara quickly gained a reputation as a talented club and battle DJ. She competed in DJ battles at WMC in Miami and Toronto and won runner-up in the 'Scratch: The Ultimate DJ Contest'. She held residencies at Toronto's finest super clubs, including This Is London. Sara was featured on DJ QBert's 'Skratch University', and starred in tutorial videos for Mixed in Key. She also found time to earn a degree in Audio Engineering and apprenticed to cut vinyl lacquers at Lacquer Channel Mastering alongside “Canada’s Golden Ears” Mastering Engineer George Graves.

As a DJ, Sara has shared the stage with the legendary DJ QBert and DMC world champions DJ Rafik, DJ 8-Ball, Bahamadia and Roxanne Shante. She has also lived and toured through Berlin, Germany, and performed at festival such as Germany’s “We B-Girlz” and Virgin Music Fest.

Sara's productions and DJ sets combine together elements of dubstep, minimal tech, glitch, hip-hop and reggae of to create electronic music as original as she is.
