Well, my name is Sarah, and this is my place on flickr, hence sarahsflickr.

I'm a full-time wife and mom and very part-time graphic designer in my later twenties. I have two spunky dogs and a quirky cat. One of my favorite pastimes is photographing and identifying different species of butterflies.

In my photostream you will find an abundance of photos of my darling children, and an occasional one of my husband, me, and our furry family members as well. In addition, when butterfly season is here, you'll see a lot of those flitty fellows, too.

My earlier photos were taken with a Kodak DC240 Zoom (1999) or my Canon Elph APS (2001) but officially as of the end of 2005 I got my first "nicer" camera. Granted it's not a digital SLR, however it fulfills my specific needs - one of which is great macro capabilities. My camera is an Olympus C-770. Someday a digital SLR... :o)

So stop in, say hello, and I'll be sure to come check your stuff out. And if you have adorable children, lovable pets, beautiful butterflies, or just downright compelling photography, you can definitely expect I'll come around quite often.

I have been fortunate to have been able to do some traveling and look forward to doing more as opportunities present themselves. I have yet to leave the continent of North America. Our most recent exciting trip to a new place was San Francisco. Check it out.

Why the watermarks?

The sole purpose of my use of watermarks is to deter others from unauthorized use and/or distribution of my images; I retain the unwatermarked versions for my personal use. I'm sorry if this detracts from your viewing experience, it's just a precautionary measure that affords a bit more peace of mind. After all, this is a public photo sharing platform, and watermarks allow me to continue to share my photos publicly with the hope that they will not be stolen or used without my express permission (which has happened, not just to me, but to others as well).

Plus, I like to think that some of my stuff is worth watermarking/protecting, so, if you can help it, please don't rain on my parade. Constructive criticism is always welcomed and appreciated.
