Hi! My name is Sarah. I'm blessed to be married to my first love and we have a fab and energetic boy to brighten up our days and keep us busy!
I have been stitching, sewing and crafting in some form or another most of my thirty-something years, but it's only in the last few years that I have really tried to make space in my life for this hobby that I find so fulfilling. I have lots of room to grow but am enjoying wriggling around in the soil of patchwork and quilting and sending out roots in all sorts of directions.
I blog at sewmeblog.blogspot.com/ and sometimes laugh at myself to think that I might possibly have anything worth saying. But I say it anyway, and have discovered a wonderful community of likeminded quilting crazies (said with the greatest respect) out there. It's fun (and reassuring) to see that there are other folk in the world who get excited about a wee scrap of fabric or a nice button too. My first love doesn't quite get it!
Anyway, here's some info to help anyone sleuthing re swaps (it's pretty much repeated on my blog, so apols if you've seen it before, but I guess it wouldn't be much use if this one said something different, would it?)
Inspiration mosaics for specific swaps are posted in the photostream, on the swap group flickr site and on my blog.
If the mosaic doesn't give you enough hints, here are a few more:
If it's a swap project that involves sashing I tend to prefer whites/creams/linen colours rather than blacks/charcoals, but I am prepared to have you challenge my preconceptions.
Piecing from squares, rectangles, triangles, stars, diamonds and hexagons are all great by me. Applique and embroidery are also okay by me.
As soon as I say I don't like something - eg I'm not a fan of browns - I'll spot a quilt or a cushion made with brown fabrics that I think looks great and makes a liar of me! But saying that, brown probably isn't my favourite colour. I think red is actually my favourite colour.
Hope this helps! My flickr favourites are also a good indication of the type of things I find interesting.
