I try to fill gender gaps in culture through my work. I try to capture and create images and visuals of things that are missing form literature and other medium like films, songs, theater and so on. As such I try to portray women in ways in which women are usually not portrayed. I also love doing travel documentary, gender and public space, culture, weddings.

Sanjukta Basu, 42, is a writer, photographer, lawyer, feminist scholar. She has worked with women rights organizations, and held a legal practice. She is currently a freelance Columnist and feature writer on various print and online media. She writes on women, politics, minority rights, and social issues. She is pursuing a PhD on Women and Gender Studies. The auto-ethnographic doctoral research deals with gender based trolling of Indian women, radical right politics and women’s political participation.

Sanjukta’s literary and photography works have been published by media houses across the globe. One of India’s earliest blogger and digital activist, Sanjukta’s personal blog is a political tool of self-representation and feminist identity. Femina magazine has listed her blog among the top 50 feminist bloggers in India. Her unabashed personal life narrative blurs the lines between public and private. The blog has remained active since 2006 and received over 700,000 unique page views. She is a Twitter influencer with over 30,000 followers and an average 6 millions impressions per month. In 2009 she was awarded the TED Fellowship for blogging and digital activism. A public speaker and trainer she has delivered talks and guest lectures at TEDx conferences, Colleges, NGOs and conducted workshops on digital media and gender. Sanjukta studied BA LLB from Delhi University, and is currently pursuing PhD on Women and Gender Studies, after completing MA on the same subject.
