I work in potato pest management and other areas of ag research, but my training and continuing hobby are in aphid systematics. I live in southern Oregon, U.S.A. I hope my photos are useful and interesting to people. I take all my pictures using a microscope and a Nikon Coolpix 5400 camera. They are trimmed and usually brightened up a bit using Photoshop Elements. This method reflects the fact that I am trying to record the aphids I study, and have little interest in the myriad of possible photographic methods. I hope to add color photos to the knowledge of aphid taxonomy in North America.
