Artist’s Statement:

My work deals with the personalities of individuals. I try to convey these personalities by way of the model's expression and body language, as well as through pictorial metaphor. Because of the psychological focus of my art, I work from life. This contact allows me to better explore human and expressive qualities. Accurate proportions and likeness are a primary goal for me as I develop my skills.

I have worked with many mediums including oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, and printmaking. I continue to experiment with new media and techniques, and explore an many styles as possible.

Bethe Morisot, James McNeill Whistler, Edgar Degas, Toulouse Lautrec, and Gustav Klimt are a few artists I greatly admire. Trips to a variety museums and galleries provide me with inspiration and new sketches. In addition, film, literature and my own dreams influence my creativity.
