Samuel Morgan Slom is a State Senator from Hawaii's 8th Senatorial District - Kahala to Hawaii Kai (East Oahu). Senator Slom has been in elected office since December 1996.

Senator Slom is the Minority Leader and serves on all 14 committees of the Hawaii State Senate including the powerful Ways and Means Committee and the Judiciary & Labor committee. As of November 2010, he is the only Republican in the 25 member State Senate.
