9 months into photography now, still on the casual side, but thinking about taking some fundamental courses...

oh my, December sure is a happy time for Canon users! look at these deep discounts! so thankful that amazon is willing to take several items back from my previous purchases (all past 30 days), among them my 28mm 1.8f, currently my only food lens under stingy restaurant lighting. i'll miss you dearly...
CF ii = 2~5 x more expensive than SDHC...oh mien, why why why? poor amazon has to take even more unwanted accessories back -_-
byebye 28/1.8, 70-200/4, & 50/1.8. you guys helped me learn a lot, but it's time to go mark ii!
it may be a bit too late, but i am glad i got a 5d mark ii from amazon's lightning deal this past weekend, along with my new food lens, the 35mm 1.4f. a whole new world is waiting for me and my buddies =)

had to return my latest purchase, the 85mm 1.2f ii. it didn't deliver for me. took some pics with it and acknowledged its goods and bads.
had to set the camera to continuous mode in order to get some great shots. 2 out of 10 maybe. this heavy dude is a slowpoke, and its bottom sticks out when mounted on the 5d ii. this was my biggest discomfort. imagine setting the camera (with this lens mounted) on any surface: how careful should i be in order to not scratch the lens against any surface? do i need to bring a cushion for this lens wherever and whenever i use it?
i think the pic quality ain't that far apart between the 50mm 1.4f and the 85mm 1.2f ii. the former is so light and so fast, and so easy to use without a worry.

my first flickr explorer pick.
today i discovered what flickr explorer was. yeah, took me that many months to find out ~_~ i wonder if i should invest more time on flickr...
there are tons of amazing photographers on flickr, and everywhere else. some day, i'd like to be one of them.
