I'm a writer, teacher, and award-winning photographer.

I have a bachelor of art history degree, and a masters degree in visual and performing arts in education. I've trained with local and international photographers.

For 25 years I've taught art interpretation and art making in museums and galleries, schools and colleges, and did an internship at the Guggenheim in Venice, Italy.

I've shown my photographs in Vancouver, Portland, Toronto, Montreal and New York. My most recent exhibitions have been at the Capture Photography Festival in Vancouver, 2017-2021.

My work has been published and written about in the the Georgia Straight, the Vancouver Sun, The Vancouver Star Metro, the Ottawa Citizen, Vice Magazine, the Tyee, Open Media, the BC Civil Liberties Association, Westcoast LEAF, Rabble, Ricochet, Policy Options and the United Nations.

Together with Kent Lins I started Van Galleries, which is an exhibition space and a publication press for emerging artists.
