For me, photography has always been about capturing or producing something beautiful, interesting, or powerful. It has been my goal to capture these fleeting moments in everyday life and preserve them for the viewer to discover. My goal would truly be achieved if the viewer of my works came to the realization that beauty is everywhere, and in everything; one must just pay attention.
I have always been a person of nature. Years of Boy Scouting and achieving the rank of Eagle Scout have molded me into a person who sees the beauty in nature and truly appreciates it. Therefore, my photography has always centered about nature and exposing its beauty for those who fail to recognize it. When speaking of photography, influences and nature, the name “Ansel Adams” must arise, no matter how cliché it may be. He is most definitely a huge influence of mine, and his ability to capture and express the beauty of his surroundings fascinates me and excites me in regards to my own artistic potential.
