Dave is a master of colorful/commercial/satirical pop culture. Clearly. And style, and the list goes on... He is also a great friend and cheering squad, easy to talk to... AND comes equipped with the best kind of humor: weird humor! The day you end up in one of his paintings is the day you know you've made it!

An extremely talented artist and a blast to talk to. it seems as though he can paint a full piece in two days, and was successful in talking me into curating art shows. Its going to get the point very soon that you wont be able to get his work that easy, so don't hesitate.

i find dave as an amazing painter and caring person, even if you just met him. his paintings are filled with color and intense surrealistic strokes. i find some of his paintings kind of humoristic and critical. i like how he approaches his own themes and i'm just too thrilled by the way he paints.

Amazing paintings!!! I'd not be surprised if he has already been commissioned for book and comic book cover art!!! Keep up the fantastic work!

David is a careful, conscientious craftsman when it comes to the art of painting. He has a deep understanding of the strength inherent in clear communication. And to communicate is what he does even better than to paint solidly and expertly. David's paintings are vehicles for ideas in addition to visual delectations. Like a good poet, however, he understands the power and efficacy of ambiguous imagery. His work doesn't "bear messages" or "testify" to any creed or constricted point of view. Like all the great artists of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries who used narrative, symbolism, or simply suggestive imagery in their work, David presents no confused or clumsily blurred ideas. The meaning is there for anyone who exerts the effort to find it, but his paintings are delightfully free of slogans, speech-making and dogma. I should add that there is plenty of delight to be found in his work; his sense of humor is first-rate. His work, finally, transcends political or moral "cartoonery." He offers strong statements presented in a well-composed and skilfully painted , highly varied and masterly form. I'm always pleased to see a new painting appear in his online gallery, and I never fail to learn something from his painting technique and his moral vision. --NCM

Dave's gallery is one of the finest I've ever seen. The way he draws (paints) expressions and detail is fantastic, as well as the compositions of his images and great colour sense. He gets to mix all kind of characters going from real to cartoon-like people and make it look so natural, that one could spend all day long staring at his work. And he's one of the friendlist and funniest people I know.

Dave views the kaleidoscopic whirl of pop-culture with a keen eye for satire and a finely tuned sense of irony and, with masterful technique and unique style, translates that whirl into paintings and illustrations of stunning quality. Bravo, Mr. MacDowell!
