I am an educated gentleman of 65 who is still learning how to use my Canon Powershot SX50 although I bought it 5 years ago. I am now into HDR an love the lighting effects that can be produced. I live in Norfolk Virginia which is not a good place to take photos because it is flat and unattractive. No animals, very few flowers and nothing very interesting. Still, I am able to get some shots off that are worth looking at. I don't have a car so I am stuck in Norfolk. There are some beautiful places surrounding Norfolk and plan to visit them come spring.
