A thirty-something who bought his first DSLR in 2008. For almost a year I hardly did anything with it. I found it way to complicated and intimidating. It was not until the summer of 2009, only 3 months before I was about to go on vacation to the beautiful Vietnam, that I picked up a book to see if I could sufficiently master it in time for that vacation. A good book can make all the difference in the world. Suddenly it was approachable, doable even. I found myself fascinated by it. I was hooked.

Or so it seemed. Since then I have experienced burst of activity, interwoven with periods spanning many months in which I hardly touch my camera. It remains difficult and that causes me to lose confidence and interest sometimes. Yet time and again I'm drawn back to this wonderful, expressive and emotive art. Slowly it is yielding its secrets to me. Slowly I'm becoming more confident and adept at what I'm doing and I think it is starting to show.
