Jason wasn't the typical patient of mine. On a normal day I see clients with a variety of mental and sociological conditions from the abnormal to the truly abysmal. Jason walked in and sat on my leather couch and I noticed right from the start that his condition was unique. He sat there sitting strait up, with the largest grin on his face. Not a smile, but rather a grin that looked like some sort of evil animated cartoon cat after devising a great plan to catch the ever-eluding mouse. Eyes were bugged open and he sat there motionless. My normal set of questions were not an option at this point, so I offered him a small cup of clam chowder and a lemonade and instantly he opened up to me. There were no tears of sadness or confusion or depression. Jason's perma-grin told me there was great joy in his life. Come to find out after he had calculated Pi to the 6 millionth digit and then constructing rare DNA strands to create a second generation homo sapien, he then came across his greatest scientific discovery. He properly exposed a sunset with a digital camera. A photo he then showed me was proof, and it was magnificent. There was the sun, in all it's glory, radiant, warm and life giving. But also i the shot were perfectly exposed people, objects and vegetation. He mentioned to me that he posted said shot to this "flickr" site on this "world wide web" and it garnished some one thousand views. It even made an "explore page" which I later found out was littered with puppy dogs, rainbows, sunsets, kittens and the omni-present "self-portrait boob shot". We celebrated his glee with more clam chowder, some orange soda, and a 60 day stay in the Shady Acres Mental Rehabilitation Institution. After that stay, Jason and I became close and shared many photographic discoveries together. He's a fine chap, but he gets a little nervous if you offer him clam chowder.

I knew Jason when he was just getting into photography and that was just over a year ago. Think about that for a second - Just over a year! In that time, he has achieved what most photographers take decades of practice to achieve. It helps, in no small way, that his evident passion for life infuse his photography with an awe of nature and its' elements. There's something for us all to learn from that - never let the camera get in the way of your photography. Nice one, mate :)

His stuff is so pure and so bloody unique! I love his stuff, and he also has a great personality. (Yeah, I thought that was weird too.) Anyway, I'm clearly getting off topic. Back to talking about Jason! So, as I was saying, he takes such brilliant pictures. As you can tell by his million contacts who leave him comments and how so many people add his photographs as 'faves', you can see how he's a good photographer. (Damn, I wish people commented and added my pictures as favourites.) ANYWAY! If you don't like s0ulsurfing, you are the biggest idiot alive. Jason is awesome. He's wonderful, grateful and definitely a loser. He is one of my favourite contacts. Keep it up Jason. And people who read this. Add him, or die.
