I have known Ryu-san for more than half my life now, 25 years or so. Even though I spent so much time with him both in High School and College, I think I did not really know much about him, except that he was a really nice person who was always the same with anyone, never changed his attitude towards people depending on who he/she was. Honestly, I felt like he was too nice a person, being nice to everyone but never showed who he really was to anyone at the same time. I guess spending as much time does not necessarily let you know about the person as you hope you will. Now I regret about all those time we spent together, not trying to know about him more. We could have been the best friends if I did try to get to know him little harder! Actually, it is the photography, now our common hobby even though we both still suck at it big time :P, that really led us get back to the track of our friendship. Just like I am, he is trying very hard to learn about this endless, bottomless world of photography now, taking as many photos as possible in his busy life with his job and family. I see his pure talent of visualizing the ideal scenes in his mind, and I also see him frustrated time to time not being able to let it show on his photos. Don't worry, Ryu-san, it will come… It will come to show in your photos sooner than you think it will, if you keep up what you have been doing now. I hope he and his family will come back to Japan soon, so that we can get together on weekends and go for little Oshanpo, hang around, spend good time together till we get old. It will be great if we could end up in the same nursing home then, still holding cameras, chasing around and annoying pretty nurses all the time! :D
