I've been interested in photoghrapy since I travelled to the Alps in 2007. After this I felt the need to document what was happening in my activities more, better. I was quite fortunate to pick up a second hand Nikon D80 and kit lens from a friend quite soon after the Alps.

At first my photography was quite basic, to say the least. I struggled with the fundamentals of using a 'real' camera thought I was keen to avoid having it on auto at anytime. also, in the beginning my photography was largely based around mountaineering and documenting this on a blog I shared with a friend.

After a while, and with some inspiration, from said friend, I stated taking my camera out and shooting non-mountaineering photography. thus i started to realise the full penitential of using a DSLR.

Quickly my kit became part of me (metaphorically of course) and where ever I went the camera came too, wether it be on the side of a steep welsh sea cliff or on the remote beaches of Scotland's west coast to just taking night shots in my home town of Aberdeen.

Purchasing photoshop, and learning how to use it efficiently, has greatly changed my photography, though I try to keep blatant editing minimal, trying to keep this simple but effective.

I moved to australia in october 2011. Travelling, like this, is new to me and the country where I now live is as massive and diverse as any other. I try to document this as much as possible without boring people.

I'm still shooting with the D80 but have a Sigma 17-70mm f2.8 macro, Nikkor 50mm f1.8 and a Holga 60mm f1.8. I also have been shooting, and filming, water based activities with a GoPro HD2.
