i'm Brian Cowley, Husband, Dad, grumpy old bloke, photographer, brickmaker.
I live work and shoot in the West Midlands, but get around a bit shooting whatever interests me at the time.
I've been shooting film since 1977 when I borrowed a FED4 from school for a field trip. Learned to develop & print the resulting five rolls and been hooked ever since.
I spent a couple of years with only digital kit after giving up my darkroom due to lack of space and new son,
I was never entirely happy or comfortable with the results or the kit, so bought some film kit and a scanner.
What equipment do I use?
In the past I've used;
Praktica MTL3 & B200
Olympus om40
Pentax Programme A & LX
Canon T90 EOS600 EOS5
Mamiya 645J
Minolta Dimage 7i (digital yuk)
I currently use
Pentax K-5 (digital, quick, convienient, like fast food---lacks soul) but allows use of all K-mount lenses
a brace of Pentax LX (what is the plural)
an MX and a Super A
I develop my own B&W to scan on an Epson V600 into Lightroom
Film of choice?
Kodak Tri-X400
Ilford FP4
Kodachrome 64 (sadly a choice no longer available)
