In it’s simplest form, design is a creative problem solving tool. I am very much involved in challenging the future of what design will become and what it can do. As part of my masters course at the Glasgow School of Art in Design Innovation, I am challenging the role of design within the public sector. I believe that everyone has the power to be creative and that the design process, the skills involved and the techniques associated with this way of thinking and working should be made available to everyone, in the private and public sector. Design thinking should be at the heart of organisations and this is central to my beliefs as an active practitioner. My goal is to challenge the way governments operate and make policies. People are central to my process, and should be in the creation of the experiences we encounter everyday. Design is key to innovation and we, as a design community, should be active in empowering citizens to become part of this journey and make design accessible to all to challenge and solve the problems we face everyday.`

I'm a postgraduate student studying a masters, Design Innovation at the Glasgow School of Art. I will be working for Skills Development Scotland, looking at how service design can be implemented into a public sector organisation.

I also am a director of mypolice which won Scotland's first Social Innovation Camp. We are a company that looks at improving relationships and engagement between local communities and their serving police force.

I enjoy muffins, music, taking photos, talking, meeting new people and traveling to unknown places.
