¡Hola! Me llamo Ruby

Soy de Lima, Perú.

Crecí en Park Slope, Brooklyn, Nueva York.

Viví en Nueva York más de 40 años de mi vida.

Soy neoyorquina de corazón y por lo tanto puedo sobrevivir en cualquier lugar del mundo.

Aunque me considero una fotógrafa autodidacta, que aprendí con errores y muchas prácticas, tomé algunos cursos de fotografía en Nueva York y en Lima.

Pero dicen por ahí, que soy una fotógrafa profesional porque vendí una de mis obras fotográficas, Pajarillo, en la galería de arte Casa Frela en Harlem, NYC, hace una década atrás.

Me gradué con una Maestría en Administración Pública con concentración en Gerencia de Programas de la Universidad de Baruch College en NYC.

Tengo más de 20 años trabajando para, por y con la comunidad Latina y LGBTQ+ en NYC.

Me encanta viajar por el mundo con mi cámara en la mano.

Lo más lejos que he llegado ha sido el Desierto del Sahara en Marruecos, y ahora último a la Isla de Phuket en Tailandia.

Dicen que soy una reconocida activista latina.

También extraordinaria promotora de eventos.

Y excelente fotografía de eventos y arquitectura.

Eso es un tantito de mi.

Hello! My name is Ruby.

I'm from Lima, Peru.

I grew up in Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York.

I lived in New York for over 40 years of my life.

I'm a New Yorker at heart, so I can survive anywhere in the world.

Although I consider myself a self-taught photographer, learning through mistakes and lots of practice, I took some photography courses in New York and Lima.

But people say I'm a professional photographer because I sold one of my photographic works, Pajarillo, at Casa Frela Art Gallery in Harlem, NYC, a decade ago.

I graduated with a Master's in Public Administration with a concentration in Program Management from Baruch College in NYC.

I have been working for, by, and with the Latino and LGBTQ+ community in NYC for over 20 years.

I love traveling the world with my camera in hand.

The furthest I've traveled has been the Sahara Desert in Morocco, and most recently, Phuket Island in Thailand.

They say I'm a renowned Latina activist.

I'm also an extraordinary event promoter.

And I'm an excellent event and architectural photographer.

That's a little bit about me.

"I STARTED PHOTOGRAPHING COMMUNITY EVENTS AND PORTRAITS OF AWESOME ACTIVISTS IN NYC. THEN OVER TIME AND A COUPLE OF TRIPS AROUND THE GLOBE, I GOT INTO EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE PHOTOGRAPHY. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN FASCINATED WITH THE DESIGNS AND STRUCTURES OF OLD AND MODERN BUILDINGS, AS WELL AS THE URBAN LANDSCAPES. AND THROUGH MY PHOTOS, I WANT TO SHOW THE WONDERS THAT EXIST AROUND THE WORLD." ~RUBY
