Interested in photography since film cameras and film developing was popular. At first the hardest aspect of photography was composition, so I depended for a while on trying to get the whole scene in the photo and then cropping the photo. After a while, the rule of thirds took over my process with a grid overlay on the camera. A little time passed and I did not need the grid as I could feel the composition. I found that if you were not stuck to a tripod for all of your shots and shot on higher ISO by hand , the vistas of composition opened up . Some days I just went out with only one lens and some days I used just one aperture. After a while I was able to master the mechanics of my camera and my lenses. This told me that no matter what the conditions were that I could capture whatever was in front my camera. I use filters to get the exposure to where I need it to be. I use software for what I want my picture to look like. Now that I am advanced in years I go back over my old photos to see if I can get a different vision . I still go on as many workshops as I can and I listen to as many comments as are given me and hopefully I can always improve in my abilities with my camera.

I am at home during this pandemic trying to avoid the virus. It is not friendly to older people. I have seen some beautiful photos from drone photography and am entertaining the purchase of one to learn on and one a little later to photograph with. My major concern is how to use one in such a way as not to degrade the experience of the outdoors for others. photographers and nature lovers.
