I've been a nature photographer for many years. Back in the 70’s my wife and I worked with the University of Cape Town (South Africa) documenting and photographing wild orchids.

I’m in the process of converting many of these 35mm slides to digital format so I can post them for your enjoyment.

I currently have a Cannon 7d and my favorite lens is the Canon 300 mm IS. I use a cannon 1.4 converter with this lens to get as close as possible to my favorite subject (birds). I have variety of other lens for wide angle, close up and other uses.

Please note that I use the minimum of photo editing software. I use Lightroom 4 to crop, sharpen, auto-correct, lighten and darken, etc. Aside from this My pictures are completely natural. What you see is what I was when I took the picture.

Michigan Birds are my favorite subject but I photograph a wide variety of subjects including insects, wildflowers, light houses etc.
