I was bitten by the aviation bug at an early age. It became a passion, and combined with an interest in photography resulted in the photos that you see on these pages. I started photographing planes in the early 1970s using my Dad's old camera. I continued while working at a small airport where I learned to fly, and at a large general aviation facility at Friendship Airport in Baltimore, now BWI.
My military career put the photography on slow motion but not forever. After a 20 year career in the United States Air Force and a second in real estate, I was able to spend more time with the photography hobby which I combined with worldwide travel. I retired in 2018 and moved from Orange County to the Palm Springs area. Although most of my aviation photos are from California, I have also taken as many as possible at international destinations.
I was and still am, focused on commercial aviation, but that changed in 2020 when I joined the Palm Springs Air Museum as a volunteer. That gave me the opportunity to photograph and learn much about military aviation, as this museum has over 80 military aircraft and an active warbird ride program. The museum is located on the east side of the Palm Springs International Airport, one of the fastest growing and stress-free airports in the country. For photographers, this location offers the best of both worlds; warbirds at the museum and commercial aircraft on the nearby adjacent runways. I always have my camera with me when on duty at the museum, because you never know what once in a lifetime photo opportunities will take place right in front of you. I hope you all enjoy this photographic mixture of wonderful aircraft, current and historical.
I have also had the opportunity to travel the world and have combined my passion for aviation with my travel photos which depict the wildlife and fantastic destinations which I have visited over the years. Photography is sharing and is like a steady stream of giving and receiving from people from all over the globe; may it grow and flow forever!
