I'm an amateur photographer; retired now but used to work in software development. I try and get the image I want straight out of the camera, I do crop (mainly to 16x9) but I'm not into post processing. Most of the images here are straight from the camera. I also like panoramic photos - the ones I upload are JPEGs from the camera simply stitched with "The Panorama Factory". In the last year or so I've been doing a lot of time-lapse videos of sunrise (and a few sunsets) and more recently focus stacking with the aid of a Nikon Z6ii.

I try to tag the flowers and animals in my photos with their correct names. I do get it wrong so welcome being corrected.

My Showcase photos many not be my best but they represent the pictures I like: sunrise, sunset, architecture, animals, macro, stitching and my favourite: reflections. Flickriver provides a nice way of viewing photos.

I've been taking photos for years with many different cameras. I think the first I used was a Box Brownie and later an Instamatic followed by SLRs: Zenit-B, Fui-ST and Cannon. My first DSLR was a Nikon D70 - the first affordable(!) DSLR in July 2004. I moved to a Nikon D80 August 2007 then to a D750 in November 2014 and have since converted my lenses from DX to FX. In May 2021 my D750 shutter broke (now fixed) so I bought a mirrorless Nikon Z6ii. I have mainly Nikkor lenses:

Testimonials

Amazing work & results without post processing. Most of us seem to rely on that too much. Cheers.
