Roy Place FRPS, EFIAP, MPAGB.
Roy Place had a passion for wildlife and photography - a passion which has been cruelly robbed by vascular dementia and Alzheimer's Disease. At the age of just 70, he tragically no longer recalls his once treasured natural history work, and he is now permanently accommodated in residential nursing care.
Roy loved presenting and gave many talks over the years about the natural world and the wildlife he observed. He would be comforted to know that his images are being shared, discussed, enjoyed - and remembered - rather than being stored away and potentially lost or forgotten over time.
Roy's son, Kevin, will preserve, curate and present his entire photographic archive, which extends to more than 30,000 images on 35mm slides, as part of a 5 year project to secure his legacy for the next generation and to deliver his work in the digital era.
If you enjoy Roy's images, please share them kindly for others to enjoy. We ask that you share his posts or link to his photo pages; this will build a broad audience whilst giving all appropriate credit to him, protecting both his right of ownership and the copyright for his award-winning work.
Full resolution versions of his portfolio will be produced and distributed to the broadest circle of Roy's family and friends, for their exclusive use. Copyright for other use will be strictly protected against the unscrupulous, but Roy Place imagery may be licensed for 'fair use' with appropriate permission.
Some of the very finest Roy Place exhibition work will be licensed for commercial activity. All proceeds from such licenses will be used to enhance his quality of life provision during this time of residential care.
