Hello Everyone,

I'm Deejay, a former US Marine who loves great music, good friends and excellent tequila. A San Diego native I enjoy spending time at the beach and being active...and in the process I'll snap a few pictures.

I still consider myself new at taking photos. The Fujifilm S1500 was the first camera I ever bought back in 2009. The majority of photos I upload are straight out of the camera and unedited....unless noted in the description. Even at that the editing I do is only minor...generally a little sharpening or maybe giving the color a boost. My goal is to learn how to take good and eventually GREAT photos. The way I see it, if I'm constantly having to edit my pics to get them to look good, then all I'm really learning is how to use photo editing programs. That's fine for creative purposes but I want to become a better PHOTOGRAPHER.

I know what I like and I want to be able to capture images I find interesting or funny...or simply beautiful. In time, maybe the images I photograph will give people insight into who I am or what I'm about...and help tell the story of the soul beneath the flesh.

I no longer have my Finepix S1500 and recently purchased (Nov 4, 2011) the Finepix S4000. I've since parted with the S4000. I then tried out the Kodak Z990, which was a really good camera, especially for the price, but I parted with that one too. As of May 2012, I am shooting with the Canon SX40hs. I'm very happy with this camera so I don't think I'll be changing again any time soon. If anything, I'll pick up an entry level SLR to go along with the Canon.
