Y Comisiwn Brenhinol yw corff archwilio ac archif cenedlaethol amgylchedd hanesyddol Cymru. Am mai ganddo ef y mae’r rôl arweiniol wrth sicrhau y caiff treftadaeth archaeolegol, adeiledig ac arforol Cymru ei chofnodi’n awdurdodol a’i deall yn gywir, bydd yn ceisio hyrwyddo gwerthfawrogi’r dreftadaeth honno’n genedlaethol ac yn rhyngwladol.

The Royal Commission is the investigating body and national archive for the historic environment of Wales. It has the lead role in ensuring that Wales' archaeological, built and maritime heritage is authoritatively recorded and understood, and seeks to promote appreciation of this heritage nationally and internationally.
