I’m a retired helicopter field mechanic, a trade acquired during 2 ½ years in the U.S. Army and serving in Vietnam, 1970-71. Since then, I have had the good fortune to work seasonally in the wilds of Alaska, the headwaters of the Amazon, and numerous parts of Africa and the Middle East. I traveled low budget to more than a hundred countries in between. Unfortunately, I did not get into photography until later years. Now, thanks to Agent Orange, I am tethered to oxygen tanks at a Veterans facility here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I don’t mind, as I had a great run and now have the time to re-live past travels and adventures on Flickr. I want to thank all the photographers posting such fascinating pictures on the site. It truly is an awesome world out there!
