Ross Doering is a Gentleman Photographer. With an eye to the subject he allows his images to express themselves, not the guy behind the camera. I know. I was one of his subjects. With grace and respect for those he photographs he kindly asks if they would want him to send the photos to them. And he does. The moment I saw the images of me and my hawk, I knew there was something very special about the way Ross captured the spirit of the moment. Nothing in my array of albums clarified that spirit like his images. And his generosity of sharing that day with me in photos was impressive. The other images he captured of the event and its people also expressed the subject, not the photographer. A year later I had the unpleasant experience of losing my computer and all my images of a hawk I loved and had returned to the wild were now gone. With heavy heart I turned to flickr and in the “search” field I simply typed my name. Surprisingly my hawk’s picture came up. And through that I contacted Ross and he immediately responded with the invitation to download all the photographs of that day. He is a generous spirit of marked talent of observation that shares with the world the gifts that others offer. Thank you Ross for your generosity and professionalism.
