Harriet is a volunteer at the Portland International Rose Test Garden and a member of the American Rose Society (ARS), the Orange County Rose Society (OCRS), and the Portland Rose Society.
She also writes the “A Nose for Roses” blog where she writes rose tidbits and gives tips on how to care for your roses and publishes a rose pruning guide in eBook format.
Harriet’s organizational experience is primarily as a director with the Girl Scouts of the USA. She has been active in the arena of non-profit youth and family service agencies for over 25 years. She was a columnist and photographer for a local newspaper and worked in the press center for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
Harriet is a certified instructor and visitor for the American Camp Association. She enjoys distance running, skiing, and working the NY Times Crossword Puzzle.
