I have been shooting for a long time, but about 18 years more seriously. I got into it more when I first used digital cameras. Soon I progressed to DSLR and then it got real. I have progressed steadily as I like learning and improving. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I am my own worst critic. :) For the last number of years, I have been shooting live music a lot but am slowing that down of late and returning to my first love, landscapes. Where I live, we don't have much of the big "epic" type of places so I look for interesting subjects where I can find them. I do like to play with Photoshop a little so you never know what I will be up to.

I have been shooting with Nikon gear for the last few years after switching from another brand and I love their stuff! I learned a long time ago that glass quality is far more important than what body we use, I love my fast lenses!

Gear:

It doesn't matter what gear I use, as long as I shoot, right? I'm tired of people worrying so much about gear really as pretty much all camera brands will get the job done. I see so many folks getting all pushy with new photographers and pushing them to one brand or another, it really turns me off. I have my favourite stuff and I also have my reasons for using it but you should choose for you, use what feels good to you for the type and style of things you shoot.
