I tend to find old time pictures by doing searches. By all means I wish to give the photographer or those in the picture a name credit, but sometimes there are none.

Once I re-posted a surfing photo I found on a site. The photographer's grandson contacted me asking me to take it down, as his grandmother was trying to sell prints to make some cash. With no information about it, I was re-posting it for its historical content. I was making no money on it. Then if the family had a link from that picture, that would have been an excellent marketing tool for them.
