I am currently a freshmant at WJU, studying Professional Communications.
I've always been interested in photography, because my dad was a photographer and I picked up his passion also.
I just bought my first DSLR, a Canon 30D for Christmas 2007, with the help of my boyfriend and of my dad, so thank you so much for being awesome. I currently own two lenses: the 18-55 mm f/3.5 kit lens, and a 50 mm f/1.8. I also own a Speedlite 430 EX flash, which I think is a great piece of equipment to have. I am now saving money for a Canon 24 -70 mm f/2.8 lens, which I cannot afford.
I am interested in people photography - fashion and portraits, but since I bought my camera I have been getting used to it, so I've been basically taking pictures of whatever i could or wherever I could in different conditions, to get some experience. My only problem is that I lack models to pose for me, but I am on a quest to find some and get some shots in.
*I finally got a new lens: I didn't get the Canon I wanted, but I got a 17-70mm f/2.8 Macro from Sigma, which was $360 (a lot more affordable than the Canon I wanted), and I am VERY pleased with it.
*I built my own "acrylic table" today.
I used a thin sheet of plexiglas over different colors poster board. I used black and white this time, but I will probably get more colors for my next photos. I had the same color as the bottom and background, and white for the sides. I also used my gold reflector to warm up some pictures. It worked great, and it all cost about 11$.
6$ - Plexiglass from lowe's
~5$ - Poster board sheets.
*I'm in desperate need for models willing to pose for me. HELP !
