My name is Roger King and I’m a hobbyist photographer with, as yet, no aspirations of making a living from it, this allows me to take photographs of what I like, when I want to. However even though it is still a hobby, if there is enough interest in my photographs I may take it further

My interest in photography started in the British Armed Forces (Royal Marines 1971-2001) with the Pentax Spotmatic and the Cannon AE1 from where we were taught how to compose and frame a photograph and then develop the negative in “the field”. However in a practical sense, it was tougher to learn to take good pictures back then, because you had to buy film and then pay to get film developed. Needless to say my photography skills didn’t start to develop until the arrival of digital cameras. My first digital camera was the Nikon D90 and the Nikon D300 , I currently use the Nikon D600. I also carry a Panasonic Lumix GH2, which I find useful for those quick convenient shots.

I currently work for a Risk Management Company called Drum Cussac ( www.drum-cussac.com) but aim to retire in about 2-3 years ( If my wife lets me )

I’m based in Poole Dorset England, where I frequently visit the Jurassic Coast and many Dorset Landmarks
